Borders and Border Crossings
A major concern of most countries is the integrity of their national borders against illegal immigration, smuggling, hostile invasion and the movement of terrorists.
The operational concept of border protection depends on the philosophy (CONOPS) of deterrence, detection and delay of intruders while enabling teams the ability to diagnose, decide and defeat threats.
Border security involves a variety of challenging requirements: long distances, undeveloped infrastructure (such as power and communication), harsh environmental conditions and complex terrains, a combination of fences with monitored gateways and multiple checkpoints.
Typically, long border segments have very low attendance, and thus, low False Alarm and Nuisance Alarm Rates (FAR / NAR) must be maintained.
Magal S3 has a proven track record of solving all of these needs in several regions around the world, with no environmental limitations and the ability to maintain excellent reliability, low maintenance and affordable life-cycle costs.
A solution can consist of one or a combination of technologies, including radar, CCTV, buried cable, dense fences and a variety of other sensors.
Protecting a border crossing may include an array of mobile and thermal cameras, people tracking & inspection matrices based on RFID technology, access & gate control, wireless information broadcast for personnel and vehicles, all managed by Magal S3's FORTIS Command & Control system.
